Dog Breed “French Bulldog” – Pure Positivity!

Pros: Kind, affectionate, obedient, smart—understands everything, doesn’t bark constantly, loyal friend.
Cons: None!

Let me start by saying I was never a dog person. My whole life, we had cats in our family. I could never imagine having a dog—childhood trauma, you know. But four years ago, my husband lost it… He’d always wanted a dog (we’d been living together for 15 years by then), but I was adamant: No way! Especially since we’d gotten a cat the year before—a sassy, untouchable British Shorthair. Our teenage son wasn’t exactly eager to help either. Then my life changed. I came home from work one day to find a car parked outside, my husband, son, our vet friend, some strangers, a huge, well-groomed bulldog, and a tiny bundle of future happiness in my husband’s arms. They put me on the spot. Well, thank you, husband—he took care of Leon like a baby for the first few months. Barely slept, fed him from a bottle, cooked special meals. All I did was clean up… Four years later, I can’t imagine life without a dog. Gosh, I’m tearing up. Even now, he’s lying next to me, purring. Yes, you read that right—our Leon, who isn’t afraid of dogs three times his size and will always protect you, knows how to purr. Like, for real. The cat probably taught him.

Here’s some advice on raising them. First and foremost, don’t be lazy and take their health seriously. Never skip vaccinations and follow all vet recommendations. A veterinary passport is a must! Second, from day one, the dog needs its own space—ideally a soft playpen filled with tons of toys! This ensures your household items and shoes don’t become chew toys. To prevent furniture chewing during teething, get round hardwood sticks. Discipline for misbehavior from the start. Third, proper nutrition is key, whether it’s natural food or specialized dog food. Fourth, read a lot about the breed and follow age-specific guidelines.

Now, some breed specifics. Snorter, snuffer, beggar, loves to sleep and eat. Easy to train and learns quickly. Males can be feisty with other dogs. Females? They’re his everything, no matter the breed—he lets them get away with anything. Loves to play. Be ready for him to shower love on all your friends and family. He craves warmth! In winter, he’s always cold, so expect him to snuggle under your blanket. He senses your mood. If he messes up, he punishes himself—lies in the corner and won’t come out until you forgive and cuddle him. Sly, smart, always by your side, needing to know everything. Brave. Somehow, he senses bad people. His relationship with our cat? Amazing—they kiss and cuddle. He’s gotten swatted by street cats a couple of times because he thinks they’re all friends.

To sum up: dogs are like kids—reflections of our flaws and virtues. The breed doesn’t matter. Want an obedient dog? Be persistent. Want a loving dog? Love them. Want a nightmare? Do nothing. A dog is hard work, but it pays off with immense love and loyalty! Don’t be afraid—get a dog.
